Leadership from the Georgia Conservancy
Pierre Howard names to Water Contingency Planning Task Force
As reported in the October ePanorama, Georgia Conservancy President Pierre Howard is one of four leaders from the environmental community appointed to the Governor's "Water Contingency Planning Task Force," who are working on a supply plan for metro Atlanta's drinking water needs, should legal and congressional reauthorization strategies fail. At the first meeting, Pierre was seated with Governor Sonny Perdue, Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle and Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin. Since that meeting, the Georgia Conservancy hosted a meeting with member organizations of the Georgia Water Coalition and key members of the Governor's task force to broaden the discussion on conservation priorities. The Georgia Conservancy will continue to use its seat at the table to represent your views and concerns, as well as to leverage our position to bring our partners into the decision making process.
