Early bird announcement!

Georgia Conservancy’s coastal office is offering fifth grade Georgia teachers a creative outlet to spark the imaginations of their students by hosting the second annual coastal art contest. Last year the winning entry was converted into a bumper sticker that the Georgia Conservancy distributed at events throughout the state. This year the winning entry will become a poster available to Georgia students and educators statewide free of charge.

When creating that masterpiece, please note that the following criteria will be used to judge the winning artwork: creativity, inspiration, educational component, and the overall depiction of the Georgia coast.

The contest is open to all Georgia fifth grade students. Entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form and permission slip. Entries must be received by September 20, 2001. An educational packet will be available after August 1. To be added to the mailing list, please e-mail Karen Garland,or call 404/876-2900 ext. 16.
